Nintendo Switch Game Card Reader Repair
Professional Nintendo Switch game card reader repair for V1, V2, Lite and OLED consoles from StanTechFix in Peterborough, with UK-wide mail-in repair available.
If game cartridges are not detected, repeatedly disconnect, produce card-reading errors or the slot has visible damage, this service covers inspection and replacement of the appropriate reader assembly.
Common Symptoms
Game card is not detected
Console repeatedly asks for the game card to be reinserted
Multiple known-working cartridges produce read errors
Cartridge feels loose, sticks or will not insert correctly
Bent or damaged pins inside the slot
Reader stopped working after impact, liquid damage or a previous repair
What This Service Includes
Inspection of the game card slot, reader assembly and board connection
Replacement of the selected game card reader assembly
Microscope inspection of connector pins and surrounding components
Testing with multiple known-working game cards
Headphone-jack testing where it shares the reader assembly
microSD testing on Switch OLED because it shares the daughterboard
Internal dust removal
Fresh thermal compound where the cooling assembly is disturbed
Final functional checks
Model-Specific Information
V1/V2 consoles use a replaceable game card reader and headphone-jack assembly
Switch Lite uses a combined game card reader and headphone-jack component
Switch OLED uses a daughterboard containing the game card reader, microSD reader and headphone jack
Important Diagnostic Information
Please test more than one known-working game card before booking. A damaged or dirty cartridge can produce the same symptoms as a faulty console reader.
This service covers the selected reader assembly. Damaged motherboard connectors, corrosion, broken traces and other board-level faults are not included. If additional damage is found, we will provide a quote and obtain approval before carrying out further work.
Warranty
This repair includes a 90-day workmanship warranty covering the replacement part and labour. It does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, tampering, damaged cartridges or unrelated faults.
Shipping and Identification
The customer is responsible for inbound postage and must create their own shipping label. Send the console to the address shown at the bottom of the invoice and order confirmation email. Include your name and order number inside the parcel.
Remove all game cards and microSD cards before shipping. Do not send Joy-Cons, the dock or charger unless requested. Local customers can select the free Peterborough Workshop option.
